Outwall is made by an independent developer. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: there is no account, no sign-up, and nothing that identifies you personally is asked for.
What the app stores on your device
Your settings, statistics, puzzle progress and daily-challenge results are saved on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app sends to our server
Only when you play online. To match you with an opponent and keep a rating, the server records a randomly generated device identifier, the display name you choose, the country taken from your device’s region setting, and the results of your online matches (moves, winner, rating). If you connect Game Center, your Game Center player ID is stored too, so your rating follows you to a new phone. Your display name, country flag and rating are visible to the players you are matched with and on the public leaderboard; nothing else you do is shown to anyone. We never ask for or receive your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or your position from location services.
Advertising
The app shows ads from Google AdMob: an occasional full-screen ad between matches, and optional videos you may choose to watch for an extra try or a hint. On iOS, the first time you open the app, the system App Tracking Transparency dialog asks whether Outwall may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads chosen for you and to measure them; if you decline, every ad request asks for non-personalised ads, your advertising identifier is not read, and the game is exactly the same. You can change your answer at any time in the iOS Settings under Privacy & Security › Tracking. Google still receives the technical data needed to deliver and measure an ad, including your IP address, from which it estimates an approximate region. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are also asked for consent under GDPR before any ad is requested, and you can decline — the app stays fully playable, and rewarded features are simply granted without a video.
Analytics
The app uses PostHog product analytics to understand which parts are used and where people get stuck. What is collected: events such as screen changes and the start and end of matches, automatic error and crash reports when something goes wrong, the country from your device’s region setting, and technical details like device model, operating system version, app version and language. These events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device; your name, email address and precise location are never sent, and that identifier does not identify you personally. Deleting the app resets it. You can turn analytics off in Settings, and then nothing is sent at all.
Children
Outwall is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are requested in a non-personalized configuration where required by law.
How long data is kept
Online match records and ratings are kept while the game runs. You may ask us to delete your record at any time using the contact address below; because there is no account, please include the display name you played under so we can find it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the data described here, or to object to its processing. Write to the address below and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
